Creating a compound path


You can make overlapping parts of two or more objects transparent by creating a compound path.
  1. Select the Selection Tool Namo WebCanvas icon toolpalette select Creating a compound path on the Tool Palette.
  2. On the canvas, select the objects that you will make into a compound object.

  3. If you want to make the overlapping portion transparent, go to the Modify menu, point to Combine Path and click Exclude.
  4. Select the [Modify > Compound Path > Make] menu command or click Compound Path Namo WebCanvas icon modify compound path Creating a compound path on the Object Toolbar.
  5. A new compound path is created with the overlapped part(s) as transparent. The ‘Compound Path’ appears in the list box at the Layers tab of the Layers window.

Namo WebCanvas reference Creating a compound path Objects grouped into a compound path are treated as a single object. Therefore, when selecting or resizing the compound path, two or more objects constituting a compound path act in unison.
