Reducing overlapping paths to their intersection
When each of two or more path objects overlaps every other, you can reduce the bottom-most path to the area where all the paths overlap (the intersection) while removing the other paths.
- Click Selection Tool
on the Tool Palette.
- While holding down the <Shift> key, select the desired overlapping path objects.
- Select the [Modify > Combine Path > Intersect] menu command, or click the triangle on the Combine Path button on the Object Toolbar and select Intersect.
- The bottom-most selected path will be reduced to the area where all the original paths overlapped, and the other paths will be removed.
