Creating a compound path from alternating overlapping areas of paths


You can create an compound path from selected paths that combines any non-overlapped areas of the paths with the parts where an odd number of the paths overlap.

  1. Click Selection Tool Namo WebCanvas icon toolpalette select Creating a compound path from alternating overlapping areas of paths on the Tool Palette.
  2. While holding down the <Shift> key, select the desired path objects.

  3. Select the [Modify > Combine Path > Exclude] menu command, or click the triangle on the Combine Path button on the Object Toolbar and select Exclude.
  4. A new path object named ‘Compound Path’ will appear in the Layers window.
