Closing a path
You can close an open path by drawing a line that joins the starting and ending anchor points.
- Select the Direct Selection Tool
on the Tool Palette.
- Select an open path to be converted to a closed path.
- Select the Pen Tool
on the Tool Palette.
- Click on the starting anchor point (or the ending anchor point) of the path when the mouse-pointer turns into a
at the starting anchor point (or the ending anchor point) of the path.
- Click on the ending anchor point (or the starting anchor point) of the path when the mouse-pointer turns into a
at the ending anchor point (or the starting anchor point) of the path.
- The path is closed as a line connecting the two anchor points is created.
You can also close the path by selecting the [Modify > Path > Close Path] menu command. It is convenient to use the menu command when closing several paths at once.
