Locking a layer/an object
You can choose whether to enable the editing of a layer/an object by locking/unlocking a layer/an object. The locked object is displayed on the Canvas but you cannot select or edit it.
- Select the Layers tab of the Layers window.
- Select a layer from the layers list you want to lock.
- Click the empty square on the left side of the layer you want to lock and a lock-shaped icon
appears to indicate that the object cannot be edited.
- The locked object is displayed on the Canvas but you cannot select or edit it.
If you lock a layer, all the objects contained in the layer are locked as well. To unlock the layer, click the lock-shaped icon .
