Specifying Fill and Stroke
You can specify the Fill and Stroke properties of an object with Color, Gradient, and Pattern.
Using the Fill/Stroke buttons on the Tool Palette
- Select the Selection Tool
on the Tool Palette.
- Specify the area to apply the Fill or Stroke properties.

- To modify the Fill property, press the Fill button on the Tool Palette.
- To modify the Stroke property, press the Stroke button on the Tool Palette.
- Press the Fill or Stroke drop-down button and choose among the Color/Gradient/Pattern tabs.
Double-clicking the Fill/Stroke buttons prompts the Color Picker dialog box, which lets you edit the colors that you have applied more accurately.
Using the Swatches window
- Select the Selection Tool
on the Tool Palette.
- Select an object on the Canvas.
- Specify the area to apply the Fill or Stroke properties in the Swatches window.

- To modify the Fill property, press Apply to Fill

- To modify the Stroke property, press Apply to Stroke
.
- To modify the Fill property, press Apply to Fill
- Choose among the Color/Gradient/Pattern tabs in the Swatches window.
When the Swatches window is invisible, select the [Window > Swatches] menu command.
