Gradient Editor dialog box
[Swatches window - Gradient tab menu > Edit Gradient], [Double-click the Fill preview box]
General
- Name
Specifies the name of the Gradient effect. - Type
Linear
Linear gradient. The color and opacity of the selected component changes in a linear mode.
Radial
The color and opacity of the selected component changes in a circular mode.
- Spread
Padding
Applies just one cycle of gradient effect. Colors of the area beyond the starting and ending point of the gradient follows the starting and ending color, respectively.
Repeat
Applies the repeated gradient effect to the object in case the gradient range is less than that of the object. The effect is applied repeatedly to the area beyond the starting and ending points of the gradient.
Reflect
Applies the reversed gradient effect to the object if the gradient range is less than that of the object. The effect is applied repeatedly to the area beyond the starting and ending points of the gradient.
Color
- Location
Specifies the starting point of the selected gradient color. ’0%’ signifies the starting point of the gradient and ’100%’ signifies the ending point of the gradient. - Color
Specifies the gradient color in the Color Picker dialog box. - Gradient Slide Bar
Displays the degree of the gradient effect. You can change the gradient color by double-clicking the slider below the gradient slide bar, and specifying the color in the Color Picker dialog box. Clicking anywhere at the bottom of the slide bar creates another slider, with which you can specify another color used for the gradient effect. To remove the slider, simply drag it to the outside of the dialog box.
Transparency
- Location
Specifies the starting point of the selected gradient opacity. ’0%’ signifies the starting point of the gradient and ’100%’ signifies the ending point of the gradient. - Opacity
Specifies the degree of opacity. - Opacity Slide Bar
Displays the degree of the gradient opacity. You can change the gradient opacity by positioning the slider below the opacity slide bar. Clicking anywhere at the bottom of the opacity slide bar creates another opacity slider, with which you can specify another criterion used for setting the gradient opacity. To remove the slider, simply drag it outside the dialog box.
