Creating a banner
You can easily create banners used as document titles in Web documents using patterns and layers.

Step 1: Creating a new document
- Select the [File > New] menu command.
- In the New Document dialog box, type in ‘circle’ in the Name and specify the Width, Height, and Color and click OK.
- A Canvas opens and the ‘banner [Sheet 1] – 100%. is displayed on its title bar.
Step 2: Creating a banner frame
- Select the Rectangle Tool
on the .
- Create a rectangle by dragging the mouse on the Canvas.
- Press the Fill drop-down list on the Tool Palette and select the pattern you want from the Pattern tab.
- Press the Stroke button on the Tool Palette and remove the stroke by clicking the None
.
- Press the drop-down menu
of the Layers window and select Duplicate Ojbect.
- Press the Fill drop-down list on the Tool Palette and select the gradient you want from the Gradient tab.
- Specify the blending mode of the layers as ‘screen’ in the Layers window.
- The blending mode of the layers is applied to make the object look as displayed below.
- Select all by pressing <Ctrl + A>.
- Select the [Modify > Group] menu command.
- Select the [Effect > Hue/Saturation] menu command.
- In the Hue/Saturation dialog box, specify the Hue Rotate as ’70′ and Saturation as ’80%.’
Step 3: Typing in the text
- Select the Text
on the .
- In the Text dialog box, type ‘Photo Album’ in the Text and specify the font and its size and click OK.
- Press the Fill drop-down list on the Tool Palette and select the color similar to the background color of the banner from the Color tab.
- Select the [Effect > Drop Shadow] menu command.
- In the Drop Shadow dialog box, specify the Type as ‘Inner shadow,’ Offset X/Y and Blur as ’2′ pixels.
- A banner as below is completed.
Step 4: Saving the Smart ClipArt
- Select the [File > Save] dialog box.
- In the Save As dialog box, specify the Filename as ‘banner,’ Types of File as ‘TNG Files (*.tng) and click Save.
