Normalized Bounding Box/Transformed Bounding Box
Bounding box refers to the blue-dotted rectangle displayed when an object is selected. Bounding box are of two types: Normalized Bounding Box and Transformed Bounding Box. You can specify the types in the Tool Options, which is displayed when you select the Selection Tool on the Tool Palette.
Normalized Bounding Box/Transformed Bounding Box
- Normalized Bounding Box
: A default selection area appears when an object is selected.
- Transformed Bounding Box
: A minimized selection area appears when an object is transformed.
Converting the bounding box
- Select the Selection Tool
on the Tool Palette.
- Select an object that has been rotated, skewed, or resized.
- Normalized Bounding Box, which is set as default, is displayed around the selected object.
- Click Transformed Bounding Box
on the Tool Options. The bounding box is minimized to fit the object.
Normalized Bounding Box and Transformed Bounding Box
You can resize an object by dragging the anchor points displayed in the middle of the four sides and vertices of the bounding box. You can resize objects using different methods depending on the type of bounding box.

If you have not transformed the selected object, the Normalized Bounding Box and the Transformed Bounding Box are identical.
