Gradient tab
Gradient is a kind of painting that blends and displays multiple ascending or descending color tones using the transparency tool. You can select and apply the gradient you want to the object using the Gradient tab of the Swatches window. You can add customized gradient swatches created by you to the library.

Attributes of Gradient tab
In the Gradient tab, the gradients registered in the library are displayed as thumbnails. You can rearrange the thumbnails by dragging one and dropping it at the desired position. Double-clicking the thumbnail opens the Gradient Editor dialog box, which allows you to edit the types and shapes of the gradient.

Edits the gradient you have selected in the current tab using the Gradient Editor dialog box. |
Add Gradient |
Adds a new gradient to the current gradient library. |
Add Gradient from Fill |
Adds the Fill properties of the selected object to the current gradient library. |
Add Gradient from Stroke |
Adds the Stroke properties of the selected object to the current gradient library. |
Remove Gradient |
Removes the selected gradient from the current gradient library. |
New Library |
Creates a new, blank gradient library. Enter Name for the new gradient library in the Library Name dialog box. As the library is empty when you create a new blank gradient library, select Add New Gradient to add your new gradients into the new library. |
Load Library |
Opens an existing gradient library. |
Save As Library |
Saves the current list of gradients as a library file. |
Append Library |
Adds an existing gradient library to the current gradient library. |
Reset Library |
Cancels the modification made to the current library. This menu does not apply to the user-created libraries. |
Default Library |
Loads default Gradient library. |
