Color tab

Color is the most important element in creating and editing images. You can also modify the properties of a color or use several built-in libraries such as Web Safe Colors, Windows, Macintosh, and Grayscale color libraries. Moreover, you can add your own color library or merge two or more color libraries.

Attributes of Color tab

You can apply a color to an object using the Color tab of the Swatches window. Double-clicking the selected color opens the Color Picker dialog box. You can select the color you want to add.

Edit Color

Edits the color you have selected in the current tab using the Color Picker dialog box.

Add Color

Adds a new color to the current color library. Specify the color to be added in the Color Picker dialog box.

Add Color from Fill

Adds the Fill properties of the selected object to the current color library.

Add Color from Stroke

Adds the Stroke properties of the selected object to the current color library.

Remove Solid Color

Removes the selected color from the current color library.

New Library

Creates a new, blank color library. Enter Name for the new color library in the Library Name dialog box.

Load Library

Opens an existing color library. Specify the library you want to open in the Open dialog box.

Save as Library

Saves the current library as another library file.

Append Library

Adds an existing color library to the current color library.

Reset Library

Cancels the modification made to the current library. This menu does not apply to the user-created libraries.

Show As Thumbnail

Shows color items in thumbnail form.

Show As List

Shows color items in a list form. You can sort lists by color, HTML code, or name.

Grayscale

Opens a grayscale library which contains gray colors distinguished by their brightness.

Macintosh

Opens a basic color library for Macintosh.

Web Safe Colors

Opens a Web safe color library, which shows 216 colors that display identically on all Operating System and browsers.

Windows

Opens a basic color library for MS Windows.

Apply to Fill
Specifies the selected color as the Fill properties of the object currently selected on the Canvas.

Specifies the selected color as the Stroke properties of the object currently selected on the Canvas.

None
